SMRK summit

SMRK summit

The highest mountain in the Czech part of the Jizera Mountains (1124 metres). The Czech-Polish border runs a few hundred metres from the summit. There is an observation tower on the summit, which offers a visibility of 150 kilometres in good conditions.

From the 16th to the 19th century, tunnels of zinc and cobalt ore mines were in operation here. The mines can be visited on the tourist trail "In the footsteps of old ore mining". The 8-kilometre-long trail includes 12 surface galleries and a 350-metre-long underground trail.

A bend (180 degrees) on the road to Szklarska Poręba. There is a viewpoint here from which you can enjoy the panorama of the Krkonoše Mountains, the town and the Jeleniogórska Valley. Below Zakręt, on the road to Zbójeckie Skały, there is a gallery of an old pyrite mine from the 17th century.
